First, to everyone viewing this, you really need to look at it full size as it looks 1000% better than the thumbnail above.
Your skills are diffinantly shown here as I first thought it was a photograph. What really helps to make it look real are the natural variations you used. Such as the way not every blade of grass is facing the same way but still follow the form of the land in natural groups. Also how the grass is thinner in some places and a few rocks are showing through. The tree seems a little low to the ground to me, but I suppose it's just behind a bluff.
The colors are great. They may seem unaturaly intense to some people but in Colorado during Fall we get sunsets exactly like that on a regular basis. I'm wondering why you chose to make the ray of light blur effect on the left side of the picture angled the other direction from the same effect on the center right near the setting Sun. Was that done for the sake of the composition? If so, there have been many other artists that have done seemingly unatural things like that to help the composition and it's a perfectly fine thing to do for that reason. I'm just wondering if it was on purpose.
The mood captured here is perfect for what you were going for. I was just about to say it feels like there would be a cool breeze but I just now re-read the discription and saw you already said that.
Those extra little doodad things you added in there (not sure what to call them) that are broken little colored bars are interesting but I'm having a hard time judging if they need to be there or could be somehow changed because my screen isn't big enough to view the whole picture at once. I like the way they help to frame everything and they seem to and balance to it but they seem a little too "stuck on." Maybe if you removed the one in the center and added a few (about three or four bars in the lower right corner with one semi-thick, the rest thin, two horizontal at the bottom, and one or two vertical bars place above the right end of the horizontal bars at a right angle to them (but not touching). That may give them more of a purpose, or not, I'm just trying to visualize some way to make them fit in better.
I can't read what the text says in the center, but I can make out a few letters. I do like the effect you got with them looking like they're blowing in the wind but I need them to be a little more ledgible. From what I can read of them it seems that they're just random letters as I can't think of any English words that would have those combinations. I do like the size of the letters and where you put them, they're just to chunky to read at that size.
Lastly I'll just mention that I like the transparent bars across the top and bottom that alter and darken the colors they overlap. After seeing this picture with them I don't think it would look complete without them there.
Very, very nice work.
First, after flattening the image, make a copy of it by dragging the layer onto the new layer button.
Then, after making sure it's lined up directly over the bottom layer, apply the blur to that new copy layer.
Next, use either the eraser tool with a large blurred brush and a low flow rate or create a layer mask and just get rid of the left side of the top layer.
Last, just flatten it again.
This will let you apply a filter like radial blur to just part of a picture. There's other ways to do that, this is just easier to explane.
Do I see the word "sensation" in there? Probably not since it looks like there's an extra letter and one or two W's in there.
